Woodworking can be relaxing and fun for folks of all ages. Contrary to popular opinion (formed after watching "the New Yankee Workshop") this great American passtime isn't reserved for middle-aged white men with lots of spare cash! Dive in and enjoy it!

Anyone know of a good website with FREE woodworking tutorials or plans?

I have come across very few that are completely free. They might try to dress it up as free, then somewhere there is a “Buy Plan $9.99″ button of some legal mumbo jumbo about copyright this or copyright that.

I don’t know about online, but The Home Depot has free classes at the stores. But ANYTHING that says free is designed to get you into their store (or site) so you can buy the things you need from them.
