Woodworking can be relaxing and fun for folks of all ages. Contrary to popular opinion (formed after watching "the New Yankee Workshop") this great American passtime isn't reserved for middle-aged white men with lots of spare cash! Dive in and enjoy it!

InTheWorkshop asked:

Woodworking is my passion - after30+ years I can still say that woodworking cannot be mastered, yes, you may achieve mastery of woodworking techniques…but you will NEVER conquer woodworking.

The slideshow here is the making of a Bombe Chest on Chest. Modeled after one I measured and photographed at the DeWitt Wallace Museum in Williamsburg, VA. At this time, it is probably the most difficult piece completed in my woodworking career.

Having said that, I must now tell you that to build again would be very easy. The woodworking techniques and tools, now have all the questions answered.

Woodworking projects, no matter what the final outcome, is simply shaping wood. Woodworking is sometimes trial and error, in woodworking, to be successful, you must be willing to make the errors and learn from them.

I hope you enjoy the slide show.

Happy Woodworking
